Nineteen electrical engineering students from Belgrade, Banja Luka, Novi Sad and East Sarajevo have completed Elnos Group’s ten-day summer internship, gaining a first-hand look at the power sector through real projects, field visits and conversations with engineers.
The program moved beyond technical topics and project assignments, taking students to sites where university knowledge becomes part of an operating power system. From the Mrčevci solar power plant and the Bočac 1 and Bočac 2 hydropower plants to the Čibuk 2 and Vetrozelena wind farms, as well as a number of other locations, they experienced power engineering in its real working environment.
Working alongside Elnos engineers, the students followed how projects are carried out on site, became familiar with the equipment and machinery involved, and discussed the technologies and trends shaping the sector today.
The field visits also brought up questions that rarely appear in textbooks, giving students the chance to understand how specific engineering tasks are approached and solved under real operating conditions.
That is where the ten days gained their real value: among power plants, substations, equipment and the people responsible for making these systems work.
A single-line diagram looked very different once students could see the actual system behind it.
Wind turbines, hydropower plants and solar facilities were no longer just lecture examples either. They became real workplaces where engineering decisions are made every day.
At the end of the program, the students received certificates marking the completion of their summer professional internship.
