Double Success for Elnos at Hitachi Energy Global Supplier Days 2026

A contract for the construction of the SuedLink DC4 converter station and an award for excellence in occupational health and safety marked our company’s participation in this year’s Hitachi Energy Global Supplier Days 2026.

A new chapter in the partnership with Hitachi Energy was formalized by Branko Torbica, Vice President of the Management Board of Elnos Group.

“SuedLink DC4 is the first of five converter stations covered by the broader framework agreement with Hitachi Energy, further expanding Elnos Group’s role in major HVDC projects. The converter station covered by our contract is located at the southern end of this interconnection, and our teams are already on site and have begun work on the project. This is a project of considerable scale – the underground link will stretch approximately 550 kilometres, connect northern and southern Germany, and have a capacity of 2,000 MW,” said Torbica.

By taking on this major project, we have continued our long-standing successful cooperation with Hitachi Energy and reaffirmed our position in the development of an integrated European energy market.

We are particularly pleased that Elnos BL also received an award for excellence in occupational health and safety on this occasion, recognising the continuous improvement of standards and the dedication our teams bring to one of the most important areas of our business. Nenad Vukomanović, Director of our Swedish subsidiary, Elnos Nordic AB, delivered a well-received presentation on the company’s activities and Elnos’ approach to occupational health and safety.

The new contract and this valuable recognition reaffirm the trust underpinning the partnership between Elnos Group and Hitachi Energy – from advancing HSE standards to collaborating on major HVDC projects.
