The problem of integrating new green sources into the electricity transmission network is a major regional challenge that requires the construction of new corridors and interconnections for the transmission of electricity, this was one of the conclusions of this year’s Energy Summit SET 2023, which was held from March 22 to 24 in Trebinje.
The energy summit in Trebinje gathered more than 720 participants from the country, region, and Europe. This year was held under the slogan “Energy stability of the Western Balkans”.
Elnos Group recorded a very successful and notable presentation at this international investment conference.
Borko Torbica, Executive vice president of Elnos Group, was a participant in the panel discussion entitled “Development of the infrastructure of electric power networks and optimization of the interconnection process in the region” presented on the first day of the summit.
On this occasion, he pointed out that the current capacities of the electricity transmission network in the region will not have the capacity to accept new green megawatts and that they must be gradually increased.
“Power grids and electricity transmission in region countries are facing a big challenge. It can be overcome with hybrid solutions, such as batteries and micro hydrogen facilities, which is an area that requires large investments,” Torbica pointed out.
The interest of many attendees at this SET 2023 was also aroused by a presentation about the development of new technologies and the green potential of the region, with a special focus on the work of our company, which was held by Marko Mijić, a Member of the Elnos Group Management Board for Technical Affairs.
The Energy Summit in Trebinje is one of the most important energy events in the region. Elnos Group is the general sponsor of this event for the fourth year in a row.
