We are constructing a new transmission line in central Sweden

News | January 22, 2021

This winter, our teams in Sweden are continuing the realization of the project of building a new 130 kV transmission line Tidaholm-Gimmene in extreme conditions, with a great schedule.

The total length of the transmission line route is 14 kilometers, and the Elnos teams engaged in this project have already installed and erected all transmission line poles, 55 of them.

With the construction of a new transmission line, it creates a new and more stable connection between two small towns in central Sweden. Namely, the new 130 kV transmission line Tidaholm-Gimmene replaces the old dilapidated 50 kV transmission line, which our teams removed before the construction of the new began.

Elnos teams at the site are currently preparing for the stringing works phase, i.e. the installation of OPGW rope 142 mm2 and conductors AlMgSi 593 mm2.

After the completion of this project, our teams will build a 130 kV transmission line Falköping-Tidaholm, which also has aims to strengthen the electricity network in this part of Sweden.

The investor of the project is the company Vattenfall. The Tidaholm-Gimmene transmission line will be put into operation at the end of February this year. The realization of this project is another confirmation of our active participation in this Nordic country market.
